  1. That ten incher is beautiful. I'll be it's super accurate, too.

  2. Stefan, that is a pretty interesting pistol. A few years ago at a local gun store, there was a Hartford pistol that needed grips and some repair. It was about $100. I looked at it from time to time, but did not buy it. At that time I did not know much about Hartford Arms. I wish I had purchased it just for comparison purposes to the High Standard model B.

I don't understand why Hartford Arms produced some single shot guns that looked otherwise like semiauto pistols. Do you know the rationale for that?

I know that Fiala made manually operated magazine fed pistols due to Fiala's belief that cold temperatures would affect the feeding of the rounds in semiauto configuration.

  3. I have a friend that has a beat up Hartford single shot with magazine that he claims fires. It lacks the release lever for the slide so he has to use a punch to get it to open. It has no magazine but I am told that an old HS B magazine will work. The magazine catch is also missing some parts. Finish is really bad too. Not a collector's piece but as a piece of HS history that would be fun to get working again it is intriguing. Are replacement parts being made by anyone to get this old girl working again? bruce@performancerealtync.com
