I'm hoping someone can help me. I inherited my dad's Hi-Standard Model "A" pistol. I know it's old, but is there a way I can find out when it was manufactured? What I'm assuming is the serial number (on the forward edge of the handle) follows: 56702. Also: a video I recently watched said that standard velocity ammo should be used in this gun, not high velocity. Is high-velocity ammo (I have CCI Velocitor 22LR copper-plated hollow point ammo) going to cause jamming or other issues with the Model "A"? I'm a total gun neophyte, so any guidance you can give will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYour pistol was made in 1940. Hi velocity ammo will break these guns
